Memoir

How Memoir handles your data

Memoir is a Mac app for the host and a browser link for everyone else. Here is what it keeps, what it does not, and where each part runs.

Nothing trains on your calls

Memoir never uses your calls, your files or your canvases to train models, and it sends them only to providers whose terms forbid training on them.

Most of Memoir runs on your Mac

The private assistant reads your files and your screen on your own Mac, in the moment, to prepare what you asked for. Memoir stores none of that on its servers, and nothing reaches the call until you press Return.

To find a file by what it says, the assistant keeps a local index of passages from the folders you pick. The index lives only on your Mac, in Memoir’s folder in your Library, and deleting that folder removes it.

In a room

The agent hears the call so it can help while the call happens. Audio is transcribed for the call only and deleted when the call ends; no transcript is kept. The canvas you draw together stays available to the call’s participants for 90 days, unless the host deletes it sooner. The actions Memoir offers when a call ends are drafted at that moment, before the transcript is deleted. Guests see a plain label that Memoir is on and choose whether it hears them. What a guest says is context for your assistant and never starts a lookup on your Mac, and nothing a guest says can show, send or change anything on your Mac.

Who else touches the data

LiveKit carries the call’s audio and video, and the model providers Memoir uses (OpenAI today) process what it sends them in the moment, both under terms that do not allow training on it. Everything travels encrypted in transit.
